Natalie Smith's Inspirational Speech at Race

  • Submitted by: Ruth Maguire, Cunninghame South, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 24 September 2018
  • Motion reference: S5M-14062

That the Parliament commends 19-year-old Natalie Smith, who is from Kilwinning, on her inspirational speech at the recent Race for Life Pretty Muddy event in Glasgow, at which she was the VIP starter; understands that Natalie was born with a rare immunodeficiency disorder and that, thanks to a life-saving bone marrow transplant from her mother, has recently recovered from Non-Hodgkin lymphoma; recognises her bravery and strength, particularly in light of her losing her father to skin cancer in 2015; thanks Natalie for sharing her experiences, and wishes her, and her mother, the very best of luck.
