That the Parliament warmly welcomes the news that the Livingston-based Team Jak Foundation, which is a charity that provides support to young people with cancer and related illnesses, as well as their families and friends and those bereaved, has received £262,222 from the Big Lottery Fund Scotland; notes that this funding will be used to complete the outfitting and equipping of its new base in Livingston, Jak’s Den Mark II, which will replace the existing Jak’s Den; further notes that the grant will allow it to install counselling pods in the facility to meet the ever increasing need for emotional support; congratulates Allison Barr, founder and chief executive of Team Jak, and her team on securing the grant, which will help complete Jak’s Den Mark II; considers that it will be an important, welcoming and very valuable source of care and support for many young people with cancer in Lothian and across Scotland, and wishes all involved every success.
