  • Date lodged: Monday, 10 September 2018
  • Motion reference: S5M-13828

That the Parliament congratulates California on passing a bill in support for the United Nations Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW); recognises that this bill was introduced by Assembly Member, Monique Limón, and her team, to the State House; acknowledges the significance of having the world’s fifth largest economy embrace the prohibition of nuclear weapons; further congratulates the City of Los Angeles on passing a resolution in August 2018, which called for the United States to enter into the TPNW, and hopes to continue to see legislation condemning the use of nuclear weapons from the United States.
