That the Parliament congratulates the group, the Inverclyde Globetrotters, on its 10th birthday and on walking over 215,000 miles in the last decade; understands that it has inspired the creation of World Walking, which is a voluntary, charity-led initiative that offers a unique, bespoke, engaging, free-to-use website/app that has been created to motivate people to walk more and to help Scotland achieve the goals set out in the national walking strategy, Let’s Get Scotland Walking; understands that World Walking enables people to use the steps that they walk in the real world to complete enjoyable virtual walking challenges to some of the most amazing places on Earth; notes that, since World Walking was launched in October 2013, its users have clocked up over 7.5 million miles, equivalent of walking 298 times round the world; recognises that it was designed and developed for the Inverclyde Globetrotters by the Glasgow-based digital studio Papertank, and wishes the Inverclyde Globetrotters success in its mission to motivate others by completing its 238,855-mile “walk” to the Moon.
