That the Parliament congratulates the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), which is based in Stromness, Orkney, on being recognised as one of the Institute of Civil Engineering's 200 inspirational and world-changing projects to celebrate the bicentenary of the institute's foundation; acknowledges EMEC's world-leading role in the development of wave and tidal energy technology; recognises what it sees as the significant potential of marine energy technology to broaden the UK's wider energy mix, and wishes the Institute of Civil Engineering well on its 200th anniversary.
