That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Maritime Museum on its new exhibition, Maritime Perspectives: Collecting the Art of a Maritime Nation; understands that this is the first full showing of the museum’s new collection, which contains over 80 works by renowned artists, including FCB Cadell, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Muirhead Bone, Kate Downie and John Bellany; appreciates that the museum spent three years gathering the paintings for the exhibition, which has been made possible thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund’s Collecting Cultures programme, Art Fund and the National Fund for Acquisitions, and wishes everyone involved with the exhibition the very best for its run, which closes on 21 October 2018.
