That the Parliament commemorates the anniversary of the sinking of RMS Lusitania by a German U-boat; understands that 1,198 passengers and crew lost their lives when the ship went down off the south coast of Ireland on 7 May 1915, and understands that, when the vessel was built at the John Brown & Co Shipyard of Clydebank in 1906, it was the largest passenger ship in the world, and that it and its sister ship, Mauretania, were the fastest passenger liners of their age, capable of crossing the Atlantic Ocean in under five days.
