That the Parliament congratulates 470 (Falkirk) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets of the Air Training Corps (ATC) on winning the Morris Trophy Regional Award to be named the best ATC squadron in the Scotland and Northern Ireland region; understands that the trophy is awarded to the best large ATC squadron in the UK and is one of the two most sought after awards in the ATC, the other being the Lees Trophy for smaller units; recognises that the Air Training Corps, or RAF Air Cadets, aim to promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the RAF, to provide training that can be useful in both the armed services and civilian life and encourage the spirit of adventure, while developing qualities of leadership and good citizenship; notes that 470 (Falkirk) Squadron were formed in February 1941 and are currently under Commanding Officer Flying Officer, Marc Esson RAFAC, who recently took over command from Flying Officer, Aubin Bryce RAFAC, who joined as a cadet in 1965 and has served continuously with the unit for 53 years; believes that cadets are given the opportunity to take part in annual camps, adventure training, the Duke of Edinburgh Award and various activities, including first aid and HEARTSTART training, air experience flights with the RAF, as well as supporting their communities by assisting at local events and fundraising; commends the efforts of all at the squadron in winning this award, which stands as a testament to the hard work of the cadets, staff and officers, and the Civilian Committee, over the years to build up the squadron to achieve this highly recognised accolade; wishes everyone involved the very best going forward, and looks forward to hearing more about the successes of 470 (Falkirk) Squadron in the future.
