That the Parliament congratulates Niamh Corkey, who is a pupil at Balwearie High School pupil, on being presented with a Highly Commended award at the Scottish Schools’ Young Writer of the Year competition; notes that the competition, which was organised by the Institute of Contemporary Scotland in association with the Young Programme charity, invited 15- to 18-year-old pupils to submit a work of non-fiction for consideration by its judges; considers it to have been a brilliant opportunity for young aspiring writers to gain experience and develop their skills; commends all who took part, and wishes them, and Niamh, all the very best.
