That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) on the launch of Scotland’s first paramedic degree course; understands that GCU has recruited 50 students onto the first year of the new three-year undergraduate paramedic science course, and that the university has received further interest from prospective students; further understands that the course seeks to support school leavers and those changing careers to enter the profession through a study to employment process involving course modules such as anatomy and physiology and undertaking role play emergency scenarios and work placements, and wishes the university and students the best with the establishment and development of the BSc Paramedic Science course.
