Law Society of Scotland Launches Baublefest Charity Campaign

  • Submitted by: Gordon Lindhurst, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 11 December 2017
  • Motion reference: S5M-09481

That the Parliament congratulates the Law Society of Scotland on the launch of the Lawscot Foundation Christmas charity campaign; understands that the campaign is known as Baublefest and that every donation made at the Law Society Edinburgh office or through the Lawscot Foundation website will lead to a bauble featuring the names of donors or organisations being put up on the Law Society’s Christmas tree; notes that, in addition, the largest donor will be invited, along with a guest, to the Law Society dinner on 26 January 2018 and have their name put up on the Christmas tree star; recognises that the Lawscot Foundation was set up in 2016 to provide support to students from less advantaged backgrounds, allowing greater equality of access to the legal profession; congratulates the Lawscot Foundation trustee, Laura Butcher, on making the first donation this year, and wishes everyone involved in the campaign all the very best in raising funds.
