That the Parliament commends Agnes Campbell, Glynis McDougall, Fay Bonnar, Isbel Smith and Jean McFeeley, of the Broadstone Gardens sheltered housing complex in Port Glasgow, who knitted 125 twiddle muffs between them; notes that once they had knitted the hand muffs they invited staff from care homes in Inverclyde to collect them for the residents they look after; recognises that twiddle muffs help dementia patients as they have colourful ribbons, bobbles, beads and other fabrics attached that are stimulating, so help to keep their hands busy and reduce repetitive behaviour, which makes them great sensory therapy tools; acknowledges that the wool was donated by people from the area as well as the residents’ family members, and that some of the ladies taking part were finishing off 10 a day as they threw themselves wholeheartedly into the knitting project, and thanks the residents and staff at Broadstone Gardens for their efforts.
