That Parliament congratulates Danica Roem on becoming the first transgender state legislator in the United States, after defeating Bob Marshall, who tried to introduce a bill that would have required trans people to use bathrooms corresponding with the sex on their birth certificate, which failed; welcomes the launch on 9 November 2017 of the consultation on the Gender Recognition Act 2004, which will seek views on plans to streamline the process for trans people to obtain legal recognition of their acquired gender, and believes that this further enhances Scotland's reputation as one of the most progressive countries in relation to LGBTI legal and human rights equality in Europe.
