That the Parliament welcomes the IFSC World Cup and Paraclimbing Cup competition to the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena at Ratho on 23-24 September 2017; notes that this is the first time that the IFSC World Cup has been held in Edinburgh since 2003 and the first time the Paraclimbing Cup has been held in Scotland; understands that sports climbing will make its debut at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020 after being approved by the International Olympic Committee, and considers that this competition at Ratho will give competitors the opportunity to compete on world-class facilities ahead of any selection for the Olympic team.
