That the Parliament congratulates Edinburgh Napier University on receiving a silver award under the Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) Employer Recognition Scheme; understands that the criteria for the silver award is that an employer has made a demonstrable effort to support, recruit and develop armed forces personnel and shown flexibility toward annual training commitments and the mobilisation of reservists; believes that in 2016 the university also signed the Armed Forces Covenant, committing it to offering existing or former forces personnel a range of flexible entry paths on to degree courses, which acknowledges prior qualifications and relevant experience; understands that the university is proud to be a forces-friendly employer that strives to support new or existing staff from armed forces backgrounds and investing in their future career development; notes that the university also held an armed forces open day in April 2017 where it showcased new research into post-traumatic stress disorder, and commends all those involved with the university in its positive work, which has been recognised by the MoD.
