That the Parliament congratulates 27-year-old Amanda McCaig, who is from Alloa, on completing an Ironman event in Bolton on 16 July 2017, which saw her join around 2,000 other competitors in a 2.4-mile swim across Pennington Flash in Leigh, a 112-mile cycle around the hills of Rivington and full marathon finishing in Bolton town centre; understands that Amanda, who has the rare hip condition, Perthes disease, spent over two years training for the event, and took part to raise funds for the charity that supports people with cystic fibrosis, the Butterfly Trust, in recognition of the help that it has given to her friend, Lisa Hertwig, and wishes Amanda all the best.
