Perth Resident Sue Hendry Recognised by the Rotary Club of Perth

That the Parliament congratulates Perth resident, Sue Hendry, on her recognition by the Rotary Club of Perth for her record of service to the local community over many years; understands that the club presents the Cairncross Trophy annually to a person or organisation who has made an outstanding contribution to the community; recognises that Sue has served on many voluntary and charitable organisations since first coming to the city in 1969, ranging from the Citizens’ Advice Bureau to assisting the recent poppies display at Balhousie Castle to serving as an elder of St John’s Kirk, where she is also secretary; further recognises that the award was made primarily for her significant contribution to local heritage and fabric through her many years of dedicated service to Perth Civic Trust and Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust of which she is currently the chair; notes that Sue is also on the main programme board of the Perth City of Culture bid, and further notes that a cheque for £250 was awarded to her along with the trophy, which she has asked to be paid to the Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust to help it in its work.
