That the Parliament acknowledges the closure of the Bellshill Branch of the Airdrie Savings Bank; notes that the bank has been at the heart of Bellshill's town centre for many years as one of very few surviving independent savings banks; understands the difficult decision that had to be made by the board of the bank and indeed its wider management in having to close the bank across communities; is concerned that up to 70 staff will lose their jobs over the next few months, and hopes that agencies can work together to deliver continuing employment for everybody involved.
