That the Parliament commends two Inverclyde primary schools, which have been recognised with a prestigious national award for innovation and achievement in delivering physical education and extracurricular sport; understands that the sportscotland Gold School Sport Award was presented to staff and pupils at St Patrick’s and All Saints primary schools in Greenock on 8 December 2016; further understands that the School Sport Award is a national initiative that is designed to encourage schools to continuously improve physical education and sport; notes that the initiatives that have been recognised include partnerships with local clubs, such as Greenock Morton and Whinhill Golf Club, lunch and after school clubs offering netball, badminton, cross-country running and other sports, and taking part in a variety of festivals and competitions; congratulates all of the staff and pupils at St Patrick’s and All Saints schools for putting physical education and sport at the heart of their school and local community, and considers that they should all be extremely proud of this fantastic achievement.
