That the Parliament congratulates the awarding of the Great Scot Charity Award to Friends of TS Queen Mary, recognising the extraordinary efforts to bring the famous Queen Mary steamship back to the River Clyde; notes the historical significance of the return of the last turbine excursion steamer built on the Clyde and the educational and cultural benefits to Glasgow; further notes the opportunity for preservation and digital study, and commends the work of Friends of TS Queen Mary and the Glasgow School of Art’s School of Simulation and Visualisation to use digital imaging to preserve this important piece of national heritage; welcomes the recognition of the exceptional work undertaken by Friends of TS Queen Mary to return a historical treasure to Glasgow and Scotland, and wishes the project’s development great success for the future.
