That the Parliament congratulates Kirkwall Thorfinn FC on its 125th anniversary; notes that the anniversary milestone was marked by a celebratory gala dinner at Kirkwall Grammar School on 15 October 2016; further congratulates the 17 players, Steven Miller, Eric Kemp, Alan Findlay, Andy Kemp, Brian Firth, Bruce Donaldson, Fraser Byers, George Stout, Jim “Dook” Donaldson, Graham Johnston, Johnny “Jecko” Johnston, Norrie Drever, Paddy Highly, Colin “Paddy” Kirkpatrick, Erik “Peem” Bews, Ronnie Paterson and Brian Kemp, inducted into the Kirkwall Thorfinn’s Hall of Fame for their significant contribution to football in Orkney; notes that Neil Moncrieff of Lerwick Spurs FC attended the dinner and presented a trophy to the Thorfinn President, James Linklater, to celebrate the long-standing association and friendship between the two clubs; further notes that memorabilia was on display from various Thorfinn eras and triumphs; recognises the huge success of the event; considers that everyone behind the scenes who helped and provided their support deserve credit for their hard work; acknowledges the contribution that football clubs like Thorfinn make to their communities in Orkney and across Scotland, and wishes everyone well for the next 125 years.
