  • Motion reference: S5M-02110

That the Parliament encourages the communities and youth organisations in Moray to nominate individuals for the Moray Young Citizen Awards scheme (MYCA); notes that this prestigious scheme is open to young people across Moray who have demonstrated remarkable work in their communities; acknowledges that the scheme is a joint venture between Police Scotland, Moray Council and the drinks company, Diageo; understands that the awards recognise the outstanding contributions being made in Moray’s communities by young people from all walks of life who go well beyond what can be expected; commends such a scheme that helps to build self-esteem in young people and develop their understanding of what citizenship means, and encourages the community to nominate as many young people as possible.
