Rotary Club's Royal Donation

  • Submitted by: Alexander Stewart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 02 September 2016
  • Motion reference: S5M-01273

That the Parliament welcomes the donation by the Rotary Club of Alloa to the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) Forth Valley area of an early years resources box; recognises that the RHET was established in 1999 to create the opportunity for every school pupil in Scotland to learn about food, farming and the countryside; believes that the box is full of farming and food production-related activities that younger children in nursery and primary 1 can enjoy; notes that the box can be borrowed free of charge by schools and children's groups for a fortnight at a time so that their teacher can work through it with the children, and further notes that the trust can be contacted at [email protected] for requests to borrow the resource or to organise a free farm visit.
