Glasgow Butcher Crowned West of Scotland Steak Pie Champion

That the Parliament congratulates Neilson Butchers in Balornock, North Glasgow, on winning the West of Scotland Steak Pie Champion title at the 2025 Scottish Craft Butchers Awards, marking its second time securing the regional crown; recognises the skill, dedication, and craftsmanship of Ross Neilson Jnr and the team at the family-run Broomton Road butcher's, who have upheld the tradition of producing high-quality, handmade steak pies for nearly 40 years; acknowledges the competition, which saw nearly 100 butchers from across Scotland enter the biennial awards, and the judges' praise for the pies; notes the importance of such local businesses in maintaining Scotland’s culinary traditions, supporting the local economy and delighting customers both local and from further afield, and congratulates Neilson Butchers on its outstanding achievement in Glasgow and across the west of Scotland, and for continuing to provide generations of families with one of Scotland’s most beloved traditional foods.
