That the Parliament extends its warmest wishes for a joyous and peaceful Diwali to all those celebrating across the United Kingdom and around the world; notes that Diwali will be observed this year on 20 October 2025; recognises that the vibrant festival is celebrated by members of the Hindu, Sikh, and Jain communities, each with their own rich traditions and meanings; appreciates the immense contributions of these communities to Scotland’s cultural diversity, social harmony, and economy, and believes that the spirit of Diwali, with light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair, is a universal message that resonates across all communities.
