That the Parliament congratulates Dumbarton Credit Union for serving the area for 35 years; notes that it was founded in 1990 to provide a positive alternative to high interest loan companies; understands that it has grown from the original 27 members in 1990 to now having 3,300 adult members and 1,400 junior accounts; believes that Dumbarton Credit Union has been a popular community organisation providing local people with a safe place for their savings and providing access to affordable loans; thanks the three staff, 25 volunteers and eight board members on whom the credit union relies; wishes them well for the future, and believes that the credit union will continue to grow from strength to strength.
