That the Parliament welcomes the award of £41,380, which is 100% of project costs, from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to the Visions of Hope project to celebrate 160 years of the charity, Seescape, in Fife; understands that Seescape will use the funding to create a new film telling the stories of people with sight loss in Fife over the last 16 decades, using voices and images from the charity’s history as it celebrates its landmark 160th anniversary in 2025; notes that the project aims to help to ensure that the story of Fife’s visually impaired community endures for future generations, combining historical archives with personal stories, contemporary footage and historical items, including early teaching materials, equipment, photographs and documents, which tell the story of people living with, and receiving support for, sight loss over the decades; acknowledges that Seescape plans to partner with Fife Cultural Trust and the National Library of Scotland’s moving image archive to create the film, which will be produced by the media co-op, and expresses its very best wishes for the success of the project.
