  • Submitted by: Claire Baker, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 26 August 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-18610

That the Parliament welcomes the funding grant of £40,000 to Kingdom Off Road Motorcycle Club from the FCC Scottish Action Fund to develop its facility at Cardenden Motocross Track in Fife; understands that the funding will support improvements to include the creation of all-weather training areas, improved drainage and work on the main track; thanks the FCC Scottish Action Fund for the support that is already making an impact, as shown by the success of two recent Scottish Championship Enduro events, with encouraging feedback from individuals and from the sport's governing body; applauds the success of the club’s recent open day where over 300 people attended and raised over £3,000 for the charity; acknowledges what it considers to be the positive impact that the club has through its diversionary work to tackle rising incidents of antisocial behaviour involving off-road bikes in the local area, where participants are encouraged to use the vehicles in an appropriate way; recognises what it sees as the many physical and mental health benefits of being involved in off-road motorcycling, which is a very physically demanding sport, requiring discipline, and encourages responsibility as well as developing skills in maintenance and engineering regarding the motor vehicles, and extends its very best wishes for continued success to the club.
