Ardrossan’s Vladyslav Shopynskyi is British Under-8 Chess Champion

That the Parliament congratulates seven-year-old Ukrainian-born Vladyslav Shopynskyi, from Ardrossan, on being crowned the British Under-8 Chess Champion; acknowledges his outstanding performance representing Scotland at the Glorney Cup in Wales from 28 to 30 July 2025, where he competed in the under-12 team and remained undefeated; considers that his achievements at both the Glorney Cup and the British Chess Championship in Liverpool, where he earned one of the most prestigious junior chess titles in the UK by winning the under-8 championship, demonstrate exceptional talent, dedication and composure, and wishes Vladyslav every success in future competitions.
