That the Parliament congratulates karate instructor Derek Hazlett on being named Sports Coach of the Year at the Argyll and Bute Volunteer of the Year Awards 2025; understands that this is in recognition of his volunteering work in the Arrochar community, running the JKS Arrochar Karate Club; believes that Derek has enriched the local community by reviving and running the JKS Arrochar Karate Club after the COVID-19 pandemic; understands that, by maintaining high-quality coaching and community spirit, he has improved the wellbeing of the area, and believes that, by ensuring that the club's services are affordable and inclusive, Derek supports all members of the area and promotes wider access to sport.
