That the Parliament congratulates NHS Fife on being officially awarded University Health Board status, becoming the first NHS board in over 50 years to receive this prestigious designation; recognises that NHS Fife now joins a select group of prescribed NHS boards, alongside NHS Grampian, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, NHS Lothian and NHS Tayside; commends the hard work and dedication of all NHS Fife staff; believes that their collective commitment to education, research and innovation made this milestone possible; considers that the strengthening of NHS Fife’s partnership with the University of St Andrews will further enhance the training of future healthcare professionals and support research that will benefit patients in Fife and beyond, and welcomes the wider benefits that it believes that this designation will bring to both healthcare delivery and professional development across the region.
