That the Parliament congratulates the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust (GVVT) and Bridgeton Bus Garage on its West End Bus Fest, which was held on 29 June 2025; acknowledges and celebrates what it sees as the outstanding efforts by GVVT to preserve and showcase Glasgow’s rich transport heritage through its impressive collection of vintage buses; recognises the unique opportunity provided by the frequent vintage bus service, which connected the Riverside Museum with key locations, including Broomhill, Anniesland, and the Botanic Gardens, allowing passengers to board at any stop en-route; appreciates the initiative of running free bus rides every 15 minutes, thereby promoting public engagement with Glasgow’s history in a fun and accessible manner; notes the additional attraction of vintage vehicles on display outside the Riverside Museum, which offered visitors a chance to experience the charm and character of Glasgow’s historic public transport, and encourages continued support and celebration of projects like this, which, it believes, preserve the city’s cultural heritage while fostering community spirit and educational opportunities.
