Glasgow Schoolgirl to Launch Space for Young Buskers at Buchanan Galleries

That the Parliament congratulates Rachel Ronnie, an exceptionally talented 11-year-old schoolgirl from Glasgow, on her role in launching the new "Busk Stop" space at Buchanan Galleries on 30 June 2025; notes that this exciting new initiative is a dedicated platform specially designed to support young local singers and musicians by providing them with a safe, welcoming and vibrant venue to perform live throughout the summer holidays; recognises the positive impact that such opportunities have in nurturing creativity, building confidence and encouraging the artistic development of young people; acknowledges the vision and leadership of Buchanan Galleries and the centre director, Kathy Murdoch, in creating this innovative space, which not only enriches Glasgow’s cultural landscape but also strengthens the city’s reputation as a vibrant hub for arts and entertainment; understands that the "Busk Stop" will operate on a rotation schedule, ensuring a diverse and fresh range of performances that contribute to the enjoyment of visitors and shoppers alike; recognises the importance of providing accessible platforms for young and emerging artists to showcase their talents, develop their skills and inspire others, and welcomes the commitment to supporting Scotland’s next generation of creative talent, which is vital for the continued growth and success of the country’s arts sector.
