  • Submitted by: Annie Wells, Glasgow, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 26 June 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-18123

That the Parliament congratulates Lavender Blue, which is a vibrant and much-loved florist based on Hyndland Street in Glasgow’s West End, on being named best florist at the 2025 Scottish Independent Retail Awards; believes that this phenomenal achievement is a reflection of the hard work, creativity and dedication shown by owner, Allie McCann, and her small, close-knit team since the business opened 15 years ago; understands that Lavender Blue has built a loyal following for its distinctive floral designs and exceptional customer service; believes that independent retailers play an important role in enriching local communities and supporting Scotland’s economy, and acknowledges the contribution of team members Gemma McQuade, Ryma Skeen, Susan McDonald and David McCann, as well as their much-loved French bulldog and “social media superstar” LouLou, to making Lavender Blue not just a successful business, but a local institution admired across Glasgow and beyond.
