That the Parliament congratulates the 13 students from Hollybrook Academy in Glasgow on their recent visit to the Scottish Ambulance Service’s ScotSTAR base at Glasgow Airport as part of the Young Minds Save Lives Programme; notes that Hollybrook Academy supports young people with additional learning needs; understands that the visit provided a valuable and hands-on educational experience; further understands that the students had the opportunity to learn about the lifesaving work of the air ambulance team, the Emergency Medical Retrieval Service, and neonatal and paediatric teams, and to engage directly with staff, including paramedics, nurses, doctors, and pilots; recognises the contribution of air ambulance paramedic, John Prichard, who delivered an engaging and informative tour, highlighting the specialist equipment, communication methods, and teamwork involved in providing critical care across Scotland; further recognises the enthusiasm and inspiration expressed by students such as Mariam Rahman, who described the visit as the “best day ever”, and acknowledges the efforts of the Scottish Ambulance Service and Hollybrook Academy in creating an inclusive and inspiring opportunity that may encourage future interest in healthcare and emergency services among young people.
