That the Parliament congratulates Ellie Hodge, an S6 student at Alloa Academy, on winning the Young Scot Health and Wellbeing Award and being named Young Scot of the Year; commends Ellie not only for her exceptional voluntary work, including her dedication to supporting students with additional support needs at school, but also for her personal journey of leadership and achievement, with her going from strength to strength since participating in the Columba 1400 leadership academy; recognises her leadership and communication skills, demonstrated through her role in the S3 breakfast club, and her commitment to improving accessibility by learning Makaton and completing sighted guide training for non-verbal and visually impaired students; acknowledges her voluntary work outside of school, where she promotes intergenerational connections and advocates for the benefits of sport for people with disabilities, supporting both mental and physical wellbeing; congratulates Seren McNaught and Kyle Blain, both from Lornshill Academy, who were finalists in the Sport and Physical Activity, and Entertainment and Culture categories respectively; acknowledges the significance of having three finalists from Clackmannanshire, a small local authority, represented at a national level, and believes that this highlights the incredible talent, ambition and opportunities available to young people across the local area.
