That the Parliament warmly congratulates Sofía Ros, winner of BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Classical Musician of the Year 2025 competition; notes that Sofía, who plays the accordion, moved to Scotland from Spain at the age of 13 to study music at St Mary's Music School in Edinburgh, before going on to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland; congratulates all finalists who performed alongside the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in the final; notes that, as well as the title of BBC Radio Scotland Young Classical Musician 2025, the prize includes a further performance on BBC Radio Scotland later this year; recognises that the competition aims to encourage and highlight the wealth of talent in Scotland's vibrant classical music scene, and wishes those involved every success.
