That the Parliament congratulates Sandra Maclennan on being named as Chieftain of the 2025 Forres Highland Games; understands that this event, which will take place on 5 July 2025 at Grant Park, is held at a location well known to Sandra, who has spent more than 30 years tending to the flower beds and grounds of the park with many other Forres in Bloom volunteers and in doing so they have showcased many award-winning floral displays; notes that Sandra has been involved with Forres in Bloom since it was founded in 1990 and has played an instrumental part in securing Gold awards and medals in Beautiful Scotland and Britain in Bloom campaigns over many years; applauds the success of Sandra and Forres in Bloom in securing these awards, including the Rose Bowl for Scotland’s best kept town in 2023; acknowledges that Sandra has been a Beautiful Scotland judge for 20 years and has also been awarded Community Champion by Britain in Bloom and the Dr Andrew Duncan Medal for Horticultural Education by the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society; understands that Sandra is also involved in many other local community groups, bringing her obvious strengths, skills and knowledge to these organisations, and wishes Sandra continued success with all her volunteering activities, which benefit the community, and a successful and enjoyable day as Chieftain of Forres Highland Games.
