That the Parliament welcomes the work of Dr Guy Bewick and his team of researchers from the University of Aberdeen, who, it understands, working with Academia Sinica in Taiwan and a group of international experts, have shown that chronic pain is physiologically different from acute pain and can now be a target for future therapies; understands that the findings have been welcomed by Pain Association Scotland and GPs, and calls on the Scottish Government to work with charities, researchers and clinical staff to ensure that anyone living with chronic pain has access to the best possible pathway for treatment.
