That the Parliament congratulates the town of Kilwinning on its recent successful celebration of the 2025 Segdoune Festival, which saw Harry Timmons of St Luke’s Primary crowned Segdoune King, and Sunni Collins named Deputy; acknowledges the cultural importance of the day, celebrating the town’s roots as it developed from a small settlement on the east side of the River Garnock, known as Segdoune; notes that the annual festival began with a gala procession through the town and featured a wide range of family-friendly activities, including stalls, games, face-painting, alpaca visits, and attractions from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service; recognises the important role played by the Segdoune Festival in bringing together schools, families and the wider community to celebrate Kilwinning’s heritage and young people, and commends the organisers for facilitating another memorable day, which demonstrated local pride.
