Silver LGBT Charter for Kilwinning Academy

That the Parliament congratulates Kilwinning Academy on being awarded the Silver LGBT Charter mark by LGBT Youth Scotland, recognising, it understands, 18 months of dedicated work to promote inclusivity and equality within the school community; understands that pupils led the initiative through a voluntary weekly support group, organising events to mark Pride and LGBT History Month, and advocating for mental wellbeing through campaigns such as Move More for Mental Health; acknowledges the training delivered to staff to enhance awareness of LGBT issues, and the submission of a detailed portfolio to evidence progress, and commends Kilwinning Academy for its commitment to equality, inclusion and the rights of young people as enshrined in the Equality Act 2010 and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
