  • Date lodged: Thursday, 05 June 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17825

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the 2025 funding round by the Eilidh MacLeod Memorial Trust; notes that young musicians and community youth music groups across Scotland are invited to apply for financial support from the charity by 27 June; applauds what it considers to be the important work done by this charity in creating a musical legacy for Eilidh MacLeod, from the Isle of Barra, who died in the May 2017 Manchester Arena attack; congratulates the trustees on having distributed over £100,000 worth of small grants to more than 100 different community music organisations, and notes that, in 2024 alone, their funding supported in excess of 2,000 young musicians of all genres and disciplines across Scotland, and wishes the Eilidh MacLeod Memorial Trust every success in the future in continuing the significant impact that it has made since its creation in October 2018.
