That the Parliament welcomes Kinghorn’s Community Library upgrade to digital with full fibre broadband, which aims to cut costs and help to support its wide range of community activity; understands that the broadband upgrade is essential to running the library’s book checking out and returns services, providing visitors with access to essential services and information through the library computers and provision of free and paid-for community events; further understands that since signing up with Scottish independent provider, GoFibre, the library has experienced greater reliability and speed of connection, while seeing its broadband and phone bill cut in half, and notes that the library, which is a registered charity and self-funded, also received a £300 donation from GoFibre towards the running of Lego and other STEM activities that the charity is about to launch for local children in Kirkaldy, as part of its commitment to community initiatives relating to education and skills.
