Celebrating Volunteers' Week 2025

  • Submitted by: Keith Brown, Clackmannanshire and Dunblane, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 03 June 2025
  • Motion reference: S6M-17771

That the Parliament celebrates Volunteers’ Week 2025, which runs from 2 to 8 June, and recognises what it considers to be the enormous contribution made by volunteers across Scotland; believes that volunteers play a vital role in supporting individuals, strengthening communities, and improving lives, often with little recognition; pays particular tribute to the dedication, compassion, and hard work of volunteers throughout the Clackmannanshire and Dunblane constituency, including those involved in youth work, sports clubs, local charities, community councils and groups, development trusts, environmental projects, health and wellbeing initiatives, food provision, and heritage organisations; recognises what it sees as the vital roles played by Clackmannanshire Third Sector Interface (CTSI) and Stirlingshire Voluntary Enterprise in encouraging, enabling and supporting volunteering and community action across their respective areas; commends the efforts of all who give their time and skills to help others, and encourages everyone to mark this week by thanking a volunteer and considering how they too might support their local community.
