That the Parliament congratulates the University of Glasgow’s medical students and volunteers, who are involved in the Teddy Hospital project, for their outstanding efforts in supporting children’s health and wellbeing in a uniquely engaging and reassuring way; recognises that the Teddy Hospital is designed to help children become more familiar and comfortable with medical environments by allowing them to bring in their favourite cuddly toys, or "patients”, for pretend check-ups and treatment; acknowledges that children are encouraged to take on the roles of doctors and nurses, diagnosing and caring for their soft toy companions with the guidance of medical students, helping to build confidence and reduce anxiety about attending real-life medical appointments; understands that the initiative not only nurtures empathy and understanding in children, but also serves as a valuable experience for medical students to develop their communication and engagement skills, and believes that the Teddy Hospital continues to be a beloved and impactful programme, warmly welcomed by parents, carers, and schools across Glasgow, and stands as a shining example of how playful, community-based initiatives can contribute positively to public health education and early learning.
