That the Parliament notes that 31 May 2025 marks World No Tobacco Day, a day designated by the World Health Organization to raise awareness of the health risks associated with tobacco use and to encourage individuals to quit smoking; acknowledges the significant public health burden caused by tobacco-related diseases, including cancer, heart disease and respiratory illnesses; recognises the ongoing efforts in Scotland and globally to reduce tobacco consumption through education, regulation, and support services for those seeking to quit, and reaffirms what it sees as Scotland’s commitment to tackling tobacco use and promoting healthier lifestyles.
