That the Parliament welcomes the news that a group of lifesaving volunteers has celebrated its 20th anniversary; understands that the Forth Valley Community First Responders (CFRs) are volunteers trained by the Scottish Ambulance Service to respond to life-threatening emergencies before an ambulance arrives; believes that the group was set up in 2005 by the late Rod Moore, who was team leader at Falkirk Ambulance Station, and that they cover all of the Forth Valley area with 16 volunteer members, many of whom have been with the group for more than 15 years; considers that 2024 was the group’s busiest year to date, as it attended 554 call-outs and committed 2,240 hours of booking on-call, as well as dedicating time to monthly training; believes that community first responders play a vital role in their communities, as they start treatment while an ambulance is on route, and that every second counts, particularly when a person has experienced cardiac arrest, and commends the group on its dedication and what it sees as a fantastic achievement both for themselves and for the local community they serve.
