That the Parliament congratulates Glasgow Golf Club’s Gailes Links, located in Irvine, on being ranked 43rd in Scotland by Top 100 Golf Courses; notes that the Gailes Links course is the seaside home of one of the world’s oldest golf clubs, established in 1787, with the Gailes Links itself being established in 1892; commends the links on hosting 32 international competitions since 1927 and being an Open Championship Qualifying course four times since 2014, and praises Gailes Links for what it sees as its part in preserving the sport’s heritage, strengthening golf tourism in Ayrshire, and enhancing Scotland’s reputation on the global stage.
