That the Parliament celebrates Irvine Golf Club, also known as Bogside, on achieving 52nd place in the Top 100 Golf Courses in Scotland; commends the club for its long and distinguished past, being founded in 1887, and for its unique blend of links and heathland features that provide a distinctive golfing challenge; recognises the club’s commitment to supporting competitive golf at all levels, with a history of hosting national amateur championships and events; acknowledges what it sees as its contribution to the local community and to the sporting identity of North Ayrshire, and congratulates Irvine Golf Club for playing a key role in Scotland’s golfing tradition.
