That the Parliament congratulates Orkney athlete, Aimee Guthrie, on winning gold at the British Powerlifting Junior Championships; understands that Aimee competed in the women’s under-76kg category; recognises that Aimee’s 172.5kg squat, 115kg bench press and 187.5kg deadlift were all personal records; acknowledges that this achievement is just the latest in a long line of successes for the Orkney powerlifter; believes that this success is based on Aimee’s commitment, hard work and dedication to her sport, and wishes her further success in her future as a powerlifter.
